Liverpool have been blessed with exceptional attacking players, especially during the Premier League era. From Owen to Torres, Suarez to Salah, numerous players have etched their names into Anfield folklore. But which ones have scored the most Merseyside derby goals, and who sits at the top of the list?

As you can see from the table above, Steven Gerrard holds the record for the most derby goals, with 9. It's a record that may never be broken - although a certain Mo Salah may have other ideas.
The next name on the list might surprise you, although Divock Origi always saved his best for Everton. Robbie Fowler needs no introduction, while Dirk Kuyt had a knack of scoring important goals in big games.
More surprising are the names at the bottom of the list. Suaraz and Torres scored goals for fun during their time with the Reds, yet neither managed that many against Everton.
Hopefully, tomorrow evening I will be updating this list, after Salah has scored a hat-trick in a comfortable Liverpool win. But whether its tomorrow or the next derby, I wouldn't bet against Salah getting close to Gerrard's record before his time at Anfield is over.
