Jota signs new Liverpool deal, with 5 year contract running until 2027
Diogo Jota has become the latest high profile Liverpool player to sign a new long term deal, tying his future to the club until 2027.
Liverpool have been very busy in the summer window, buying and selling players. But there has also been a large emphasis on securing players to new long term contracts, ensuring the club does not have another ‘Mane’ situation on their hands.
After new deals for first team players Mohamad Salah and Joe Gomez, Diogo Jota has become the latest player to commit his long term future to the Reds, signing a new deal that will run until at least 2027. By the end of the deal, the Portuguese striker will be nearing 30, so Liverpool have moved quickly to ensure the player gives the best years of his career to Liverpool.
Jota to miss start of the season
Sadly, Jota will miss the opening games of the season with a hamstring problem, which he first picked up at the end of last season. Jurgen Klopp clearly rates the striker very highly, and will be desperate to get the striker back in action as soon as possible.
