Liverpool's attack could look different next season with Mane set to leave Liverpool.
As the saying goes - change is inevitable. And for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool fans, that change may be coming sooner than expected, as Sadio Mane now appears set to leave Liverpool in the summer.
Various respected journalists have been reporting throughout the day that Mane is set to inform Liverpool's hierarchy it is his intention to leave the club in the summer. Rumours of his desire to leave have been circulating for several weeks, but little stock was placed in the reports, especially as most originated from foreign media outlets, whose purpose appeared to be to unsettle the player and club, rather than report on any hard facts.
The situation has changed dramatically over the last 24 hours though. Before the Champions League Final Mane had refused to directly answer questions on his future, instead telling reporters to ask again on Sunday, when he would have a "special message" that Liverpool fans would want to hear. Most took that as a sign that he intended to stay at Liverpool. After all, Liverpool fans will not think it 'special' if he intends to leave.
Whilst no official announcement has been made either way, reporters and transfer insiders connected to Liverpool are now all reporting the same thing - that Mane has decided to end his 6 year stay at Anfield and seek one last challenge abroad. Only time will tell whether these latest reports are correct - but if they are it will be a big blow to Jurgen Klopp and his plans for next season.
